Trashbirds
Okay, so for the last 2 nights i was visiting Oberlin College. Boy was that fun, holy god. I barely saw my host at all, I was mostly hanging with other people. I caught a really cool brass band on Thursday night and thats about it. But yesturday (friday) i played pool with a bunch of people, saw this awful singer do shakespear shit for like 2 minutes, went to an "Art Of Death" class with the people i played pool with. Then after we played pool, we went to a really awesome party held in some seniors' house on campus. It was $3 admission which included free keg beer. But keg beer is disgusting. There were three bands playing that night in the living room of the house: The Trashbirds (punk indie rock greatness), Headless Body In A Topless Bar (grungy punk), and Hazzah For The Shopkeep (jam band african drum rock n roll). The Trashbirds were amazing. Headless Body was pretty good. Hazzah For The Shopkeep sucked. Anyway, that house was PACKED. It was very insane. Some pretty cool stuff happened at the party which i will not mention now becasue it would take up much space. Then at 2 in the morning we all went to a pizza place and got food. Then we went back to the dorms at 4am. And i slept on the common room floor next to this girl Athalia. And on the common room couch was this guy Kia (pronounced like "Sky" without the "S"). He was from california and was just visiting too. so all in all, i am very tired today. And TOMORROW i am going for ANOTHER overnight at Muhlenburg. Radio/Video
Ok, so Brendan's party was alot of fun which was expected. We played music and the cops came. I met Anthony's cousin Chris, and saw people who I hadn't seen in a while. So overall, good job Brendan, you had a birthday and had an enjoyable party. congrats Also, System of a Down was amazing in concert the other day. Bad Acid TRip was not soo good. Mars Volta was good tho. but SOAD blew them all away. Brendan had shotgun the whole way up and Tim had shotgun the whole way back so i was in the back of ANthony's car the whole trip having my hair blown in my eye sockets. how fun. anyway, u should see System next time they come around, cuz their good. This saturday is MFU, everyone should come. We play at 5:30pm. This SAturday night i am picking Rachel up in Baltimore and she is staying with me until Tuesday when she will return to New Jersey. SO if u want to meet her, u should probably do so before Tuesday. My dad is upset becuase i was bad-mouthing the army. He is a tool. A tool of the government and their clever advertising. CD Reviews by Jordan
Ok, i went to Best Buy today and blew my cash. Here are the reviews of what I bought... DVD: Sin City ~ of course it is perfection, just as it was in theaters CD's: The Banner - 'Each Breath Haunted' ~~ Awesome as should be expected from The Banner...but i must say i enjoyed their old CD's a little more (Your Murder Mixtape is a great CD from them) Bad Brains - 'Bad Brains' ~~i already knew all the songs off this album, but actually having them all together finally is great. My personal favorite punk band of all time. Red Eye and Other Things
Tonight was the Mudd Puddle show, it was awesome! A Coulter did some awesome poetry which blew my poem away...Minkser did some great music of his own and covers and Colin owned the bass. DJ Divine and my man Chris had a freestyle rap session which was also awesome. Chris gave me a copy of his home recordings and they are really good, ive been listening to them alot --- go to www.soundclip.com/sirhardcore --- and listen to the rap stylings of Sir HC (Chris backwards, i just figured that out). Anyways...then i went and saw Red Eye. it kicked ass, Cillian Murphy did it again, as did Wes Craven. i love those guys. So go see that movie. So yeah, i guess thats it for now. Can I Be Your Suicide Machine?
So yeah, AUGUST 19th --- at the Mudd Puddle in downtown Frederick, my second solo acoustic performance! It is a night of poetry, spoken word, and singer/songwriters. I will be performing 7 original songs that i wrote and maybe a poem or two. It is going to be lonely playing a show without my bretherin of Society Ills getting my back the whole time, but it will also be alot of fun. Well it looks like tonight I am going up to Baltimore with some people to see Static-X and American Head Charge play at Club Sonic. Should be fun. I Havn't been to a good heavy metal show in a while. Tix are like $22 at the door, so i can actually afford to see them. All my money lately has gone to gas and Cheesy Gordita Crunch's from Taco Bell. And Brendan owes me $11 becuase i bought him chicken and Taco Bell food the other day when he left his wallet at home. so my plans tonight do AP Bio stuff. go to concert. call Rachel. go to bed. dream.
